    (OVERVIEW)

    (Re)using plastic for new solutions

With the ambition of developing a more sustainable store concept and leveraging circular economy as a way to close part of the Waste Eletric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) cycle, Worten started a partnership with Prodelix® - which produces substitute materials for wood and stone from mixed plastics - and with ERP Portugal, which co-financed the project.
Thus, in 2021 the pilot project was developed in the Worten das Amoreiras store in order to test furniture entirely produced through recycled and recyclable material. The project was a success, and it is now being scaled up, both in percentage (35% vs. 25% in the pilot phase) and in amount (2,170kg vs. 125kg in the pilot phase). This project also promotes awareness among consumers.
